Shopping Thailand for Bargains

Surely find some great bargains travelers in Thailand, especially in Chiang Mai. But much depends on what you want to buy what you know about what you buy, where you are, if you want it. A bargain is to find and buy what you have been looking for a price that makes you happy. There have been times and places when I thought that ten dollars for a cool drink of water, a great trade, but would most of the time I find a drink for a lot less. The same is trueincluding shopping everywhere, Thailand.

Gone are the days when ordinary people would part with their treasures, native for a handful of little things. I think it ended just invented the wheel was at the time. Now, the steady flow of tourists in Thailand is filled with some of the most capable small dealers, well-managed large retailers everywhere. This is not necessarily bad, or keep the competitive prices, within reason, but do not expect to find the purchase of one inLife if the seller knows that another tour bus is due in fifteen minutes.

I live in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand and the tourists come and go, they are good for the economy and I feel good to leave, satisfied that the vast majority. Your money will be distributed around hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions and things they take home with them are usually purchased at the large (high overhead), souvenir shops or on the large (high up) Night Bazaar. There arenothing wrong with this. In the places I go, even for the entertainment value but I expect to find any real bargains. When my family visited, I'll take it to the authorities, have a good time, but we go somewhere else when it's time to buy, souvenirs, or "Made in Thailand."

Silk is often high on the list to buy something and it is possible to get some really great buys. Invested a small amount of time, can pay good dividends. Ask the people who know where to find goodQuality at a good price. The doorman at the hotel can be can be a good source of information and it never hurts to ask. A taxi driver may know, but it can also offer to pay you in the factory that will bring him the most commission. Perhaps even better is to buy a tie in a small local tailor shop and ask where he buys his silk. You can expect him to arrange a commission, but you will find a good buy and at least you will not end in one of the tourist traps.

For other goodsare produced domestically, whether in small factories, workshops or go home in the village where the locals shop. The large permanent market places that are not on the beaten track, as Woororot Market in Chiang Mai where locals buy here for the daily needs; food, flowers, clothing, cloth, shoes and pretty much everything else. For DIY, decorating items, T-shirts, small antiques, food, music, a great foot massage and more than you can imagine, plus a relaxing evening of entertainment,Go to the site, is one of the one-day markets. These can be found in various areas of the city and in small towns, one or two days a week. The best I've ever found, is the market on Saturday walking Ratchadaemon Road in Chiang Mai.

The market is in full swing in the cool of the evening on the square in front Thapae Gate, the main entrance of the city walls and on over the moat, the more roads than to be explored in one evening. If something is smallenough to be in the market may lead the field (and small enough to fit in your trunk) there is a good chance that at least has put a small merchant a place on the cobbled streets and makes a good deal. Whether you go shopping or just enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes, this is where you can find a bargain.
