The Similan Islands are only about 84 km northwest of Phuket in the crystal clear blue waters of the Andaman Sea. The islands have been popular with tourists because of its clear blue waters, especially with divers. The most interesting spots, seems therefore to be found beneath the waves. The Similan Islands are just as popular in their own right because of the low-lying formations covered with thick forestsIronwood and eucalyptus trees. The islands are also home to many species of animals and endangered animals.
The Similan Islands consist of ten small islands. The first island is Hu-Yong and Koh Nueng (Koh means island in Thai). Koh Nueng scored a white sandy beach and is the longest beach of all the other islands. It is a place for sea turtles lay their eggs, and it is a good place for deep diving.
The second island and Koh Pa-Young Song. There is no beach on the island. So,it's just a good side of the deep diving and snorkeling. The third island and Koh Pa-Youn Sam. Furthermore, there is no beach on the island. Generally, people call themselves this island "The Great Wall Iceland" because it is a rock formation as the wall under the sea around the island. Many nice fish swim around the wall, including barracudas. This island is a good place for deep diving.
The island is Koh Forth Mieng or lake. There are tourist information center, restaurant,Accommodation, Office of the Similan Islands National Park, and other western amenities for tourists on the island.
There are two beaches on Koh See. The first is in the front of the Similan Islands National Park or head office is located. It has had a very fine and white sand beach, and it is 400 meters long. It is good spot for swimming and snorkeling. The second beach is located in the east of the island. Tourists can walk through the evergreen forest to the beach and can achievea good opportunity to study the nature of the forest in the surrounding area. Koh lake is a great place for snorkeling, scuba diving, nature study, bird-watching activities on the beach and sightseeing.
The fifth island of Koh Haa. It is only a small island, but it is a great place for diving. On this island there are white-gray eels that loves to show herself out of her hole, which are not found on other islands. There are a variety of corals around the island. This island is a great placefor deep diving.
The sixth island and Koh Pa-She Hok. The island is full of rocks and cliffs. It is a beach on the east side of the island with a wide range of live coral. It is a good sport for deep diving.
The seventh island is Koh Pu Sa or Jed. This island is a great site for scuba diving as a target area provided. Many of the beautiful and colorful fish living around the island. Tourists may be able to sea turtles and stingrays to see.
The eighth islandKoh Similan or pad. It is the largest island of ten islands, Similan Islands group. There is a small bay in the north corner of the island called horseshoe bay, there is full and beautiful coral fish. The sea is very clear that for swimming and snorkeling is good. We are situated on the east side of the island is a large rock in the shape of the boat and fantasy rock icons of the island. This island is a great place for snorkeling, scuba diving, studying nature and camping.
Theninth island is Ba-Ngu or Koh Koaw. General geographic of the island is rocks and cliffs. "Christmas point" is well known for deep diving site for divers and is situated on the east side of the island.
The tenth island is island is Ta-Chai. This island is announced to be included into The Similan Islands group on the 25 September 1998. This island is also a great spot for divers.
